1password added a new function that allows users to mark their entries using physical places. Thus, when the user is close to the location of the accounting data, this information will be opened in the mobile application of the password manager. This function “nearby elements” makes the most important information quickly accessible to 1password customers and cuts out the need to search for the correct details or remember exactly what you called the account.
Information about the location can be added to any new or existing element in the 1password storage. The application was also updated by presenting a map for setting up and viewing the locations of your elements. In a message on the blog announcing this function, the company gave examples such as door codes for the workplace, medical records in the doctor’s office, access to Wi -fi in the gym and reward information about local stores as potential use of location data.
Privacy and safety are of paramount importance for password manager, and 1password confirmed that the coordinates of the user location are used only locally and do not leave the device. Nearby items are available for 1password customers, starting from today.
