Three young African brothers drowned, making a dangerous Central Mediterranean transition with their parents, a German humanitarian group said on Monday, after rescuing 17 people in a chaotic stage who saw survivors.
Two toddler brothers were killed when the smugglers sank, while the survivors reported that the third child had drowned earlier in his way from Libya aboard a glass fiberglass, said Stephen Schrenzameier, head of the Sea Pank Operation 1.
