Four US Army soldiers were killed during training in Lithuania, said NATO Secretary General Mark Ruthte on Wednesday, talking to journalists in Poland. US Embassy in Vilnius said earlier in statement Posted on social media that four soldiers were missing during training, and this thanked the Baltic nation and police for their help to seek them.
The American official will only say that four soldiers participated in a training accident.
“This news came about four US soldiers who died in the incident in Lithuania,” Rute told reporters in Warsaw. “It's still early news, so we don't know the details. It's really terrible news, and our thoughts with families and loved ones.”
The US Embassy stated in its report on social media that troops were missing from the training zone near the Pabrod, near the far eastern border of Lithuania from Belarus, the nation closely linked to Russia. The embassy did not say when the soldiers were missing.

“Soldiers, all of the 1st brigade, the 3rd Infantry Division, conducted the planned tactical training during the incident,” the embassy said in a statement.
Delfi Lithuanian news said the soldiers were missing together with a tracked vehicle that usually refers to a tank or armored vehicles.
