After the deadly terrorist attack it cried New Orleans, Another rap legend offers a message of hope for a Louisiana town.
“We will not allow this senseless act of terrorism to stop us from being who we are as a culture and as a people. And we will stand together and fight and show them that this is America and that we will win,” New Orleans entertainer Percy “Master P” Miller said “One Nation” Saturday. “We are patient when you talk about the city of New Orleans, and we will go back.”
At least 14 people were killed and dozens more injured after a driver plowed into a crowd at Canal and Bourbon streets in New Orleans early on New Year's Day.
Driver, 42 years old Shamsud-Din Jabbara US citizen from Texas and a veteran, died after a shootout with officers.
“This is truly humanitarian. That is why we stand and are not afraid. And we are not afraid. And our city will be stronger. But for those who lost their lives, we are not like that, I'm going to forget them,” said Master P.
More than 30 others were injured. Although it previously investigated the possibility of accomplices in the attack, the FBI said the bureau is confident Jabbar acted alone.
The FBI found a black ISIS flag on Jabbar's rental truck used in the attack.

Since Wednesday morning's event, New Orleans has seen an outpouring of support from around the country.
President Biden and first lady Jill Biden are scheduled to travel to New Orleans on Monday, where they “will mourn with the families and members of the community affected by the tragic attack on January 1 and meet with officials on the ground,” according to the White House.
Master P conveyed his thanks to those who have been praying for our city.
“Also, the people who lost their loved ones in this tragedy that should not have happened in our city at all, we want to show them that the mayor and I are walking, walking the streets of Bourbon Street what we haven't done and we will get stronger,” he said.
