New Circular smart ring has a built-in ECG

Until today, I could count on one finger the number of smart rings that offered single-line ECG in such a small package. Bodymetrics Circus+ debuted in 2021, but it lacked heart monitoring features and lacked the style or even the look of a real ring. Today at CES 2025however, Circular shows off its second-generation ring that promises to monitor your heart health.

We had a chance to take a look at the rings today at CES Unveiled and they are truly brilliant. They also feel surprisingly light. The sensory nodes inside the rings are noticeable when you first put the ring on, but after about a minute of wearing it, it almost doesn't feel like you're wearing a ring at all.

Circular says the Ring 2 boasts improved sensors, as well as the aforementioned ECG, eight-day battery life, and an improved wireless charging dock. The company added that its companion app and AI have been completely redesigned to offer a “more intuitive and streamlined user experience.” Not to mention, the case is now cast in titanium with four finish colors; Gold, silver, black and rose gold.

This latest generation doesn't have the vibrations found in the first generation Circular rings, but the company's co-founder tells us that the vibration will return in the next iteration. For now, the second-generation rings are slated to hit store shelves in February or March 2025, but the company says it will cost you $380 when it does.
