At CES 2025, Bosch is showing off an AI-enabled bassinet with sensors that can detect just about anything a concerned parent could ever hope to track about their baby. It is unclear when the device named Revolmay actually be accessible, but it is capable of tracking an impressive amount of data.
At first glance, the Revol is somewhat similar to other smart bassinets, such as the ever-popular Snow. It has mesh walls and can soothe a sleeping baby with automatic movements. But unlike the Snoo, which rocks horizontally, the Revol moves vertically, with the mattress slowly rising and falling like a tiny elevator.
But the best part of the crib's capabilities lies in the built-in baby monitor, which provides a live video feed for caregivers. Inside the handle, which extends over the crib, are a variety of sensors that can monitor both the environment around the crib and what's happening inside.
It uses a millimeter wave radar sensor that Bosch says can accurately measure a baby's heart rate and breathing rate. This data is then sent to an app on the caregiver's phone, where they can view statistics and health reports in real time. There are also sensors to monitor the environment around the baby, including temperature and humidity sensors, and a particle meter to measure air quality.
Finally, since it's 2025 and every product needs to have an AI component, Revol also has AI-enabled features. It uses computer vision to determine if an object, such as a blanket or stuffed animal, is near a baby's face and can alert parents to danger (the American Academy of Pediatrics does not recommend keeping any soft objects in infants' sleep area).
This all sounds like a pretty impressive list of bassinet features, but parents shouldn't hold their breath for the Revol to become available. A Bosch spokesperson told me that the company plans to bring the bassinet to the Chinese market first and plans to launch it in the U.S. sometime in 2026, citing the need to comply with U.S. laws and regulations.
There's no price listed for the device yet, although Bosch told me they hope to price it at around $1,200. It may sound cool, but the company plans to offer additional add-ons that can turn the crib into a changing table and desk so parents and babies can get more use out of it.
