ReutersAt least 14 people were injured in a large Russian rocket and drone attack against Kiev, say city authorities.
Russia launched 250 drones and 14 ballistic missiles against Kiev, the Air Force reported in Ukraine, causing fires in residential buildings.
It was one of the largest combined air attacks of the city since the beginning of the war.
The Air Force said they had downloaded six rockets and 245 drones.
“With each such attack, the world becomes more assured that the reason for the prolongation of the war lies in Moscow,” said Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski at X.
The barrage came hours after Russia and Ukraine took part in the prisoners' UAP, agreed after talks between the employees of both countries in Turkey.
Describing “Hard Night”, Zelenski said there were fires and explosions in Kiev with homes, companies and cars damaged by strikes or falling debris.
Olha Chiruha, a 64-year-old local resident who lives just outside the Central Kiev, told Reuters news agency: “I want to agree to end their fire. To bombard people like this, my three-year-old granddaughter was screaming scared.”
Commenting on the combined use of air weapons, Timur Tkachenko, Head of the Kiev Military Administration, said: “The enemy improves his own tactics for the use of drones while hitting ballistics.”
Zelenski said that only “additional sanctions aimed at key sectors of the Russian economy” can encourage Moscow to agree to the cessation of fire.
Last week, Russia said Ukraine had fired hundreds of explosive drones in the country, including strikes over Moscow. The Russian Defense Ministry said 485 drones had been removed.
On Friday, Ukraine and Russia submitted over 390 soldiers and civilians to the prisoners' largest stock exchange, as the Kremlin began a complete attack in February 2022.
Both sides agreed to exchange 1,000 prisoners.
