In an open letter to its franchisees, employees and suppliers, McDonald's announced its achievements in its commitment to inclusion, one of its “core values,” and the company also said it wanted to “highlight several important changes in our approach.”
The changes include ditching McDonald's “aspirational representation goals,” getting rid of the DEI commitment to its suppliers, renaming its diversity team the “Global Inclusion Team” and ending external surveys.

Although McDonald's didn't mention any outside polls by name, the decision means it joins a long list of companies that have pledged to end participation in the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index, an annual survey and report designed to measure ” Policies, practices are used. and benefits for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) employees.”
