Passengers flying United Airlines Soon, the Internet will be navigated by Elon Musk's Starlink.
On Sunday, the airline announced “an accelerated timeline” for what it called “the world's fastest and most reliable connection in the sky.”
Starlink testing for the airline will begin next month, and the first commercial flight with the service will begin this spring on a United Embraer E-175, according to a press release.
“We have a lot planned for our MileagePlus members this year, and adding Starlink to as many aircraft as we can — as quickly as possible — is at the heart of it all,” United MileagePlus CEO Richard Nunn said in a statement. . “This will not only transform the United flying experience, but also unlock many partnerships and benefits for our members that would not be possible otherwise.”

Starlink access will be free for all customers who are part of the airline's MileagePlus loyalty program. According to United, this will include “in-flight entertainment experiences such as streaming services, shopping, gaming and more.”
United says its entire two-cabin regional fleet will be equipped with the technology by the end of the year, as well as “the first Starlink-equipped mainline aircraft.”
