US Steel and Nippon Steel filed lawsuits in Washington to try to overturn last week's decision by the Biden administration to block their planned merger. In a scathing statement, the steelmakers accused the former president of taking the move for political gain. They also sued USW and Cleveland-Cliffs for colluding to kill the deal to try and monopolize the US steel industry. Additionally, a 276kg bluefin tuna fetched €1.2 million at a New Year's auction in Japan.
