In the event of a forest fire, The Red Cross is pleading with residents Have an evacuation plan that includes multiple escape routes from your home and community. They should also be equipped with a number of emergency items, including masks and baby food, for their 'kit'.
The Red Cross told FOX Business that hundreds of residents are currently seeking safe shelter in evacuation centers across the Los Angeles area as at least four fires continue to burn in the area.
More than 30,000 residents are under evacuation orders.

According to the Red Cross, once they receive an official evacuation order, they should “heed the orders of local authorities and follow instructions.” However, even if residents do not receive an order, they should leave if they feel threatened or unsafe, the organization said.
The Red Cross said the most up-to-date list of shelters can be found on the Red Cross' toll-free emergency app or by calling 1-800-Red-Cross.

The Red Cross said residents in affected areas should back their cars into garages or park them outside in the direction of their evacuation route.
According to the Red Cross, what you should bring with you in a “kit”:
A “kit” should be three days long that you can easily carry with you, while a home kit should be two weeks worth of supplies.
- An emergency kit should be in the car. If time permits, residents should stock up on scarce items, especially medications or medical supplies
- One month's supply of medicine in a special container for children
- Mask and hand sanitizer
- Special items for children such as food, formula, diapers, extra clothes and toys
- Items for pets, including leashes, Medicines for pets and pet food
- Personal hygiene items, pillows, blankets, towels, a change of clothes or other items you may want to have in the shelter.
- Mobile phone charger or external battery packs.
