This $1,500 iPad Bundle Will Rickroll Your Family After You Die

It's only the second day. CES 2025We've reached a point where it's hard to distinguish genuine products from elaborate pranks. Case of Death currently leads that race by a country mile.

The product manufactured by Zugu is designed to be a dead button for your digital life. It combines an 11-inch iPad case with a smart ring and an app. All of them ship with the 11-inch iPad Pro, which is a brick in user death.

Zugu wrote

If the user's heart rate suddenly stops and their body temperature and blood oxygen levels drop significantly, the smart ring detects that the user is dead and sends a signal to the In Case of Death app to trigger 'death prevention' when the user first registers and sets it up.

The company notes that the system knows when you've removed your finger, so your iPad won't brick every time you charge your ring. It looks like case makers are either happy with a bad product — or offering too many different options instead of bricking the tablet.

“Death Protections includes Destroy My Browser (which removes it and its history); Nuke My iPad (Nuke that erases all its data); Rickroll My Loved Ones (which commands the iPad to play an endless loop of Rick Astley videos); Tweet to my followers,” according to the company.

A typical tweet reads as follows; “Going offline forever my friend. As in. Don't forget to like and subscribe to my obituary #LastPost #NoFilter #NoHeartBeat #RIPme.”

The price of the system is $1,500. Take advantage of free shipping and pick up some screenings while you're at it.
