In the coming years, India will produce a technology company worth $ 100 billion, said CNBC on Monday, because the company assumes in the country to win more large investments.

ProsusWhich is the majority of ownership of the South African company Naspers, is one of the largest technological investors in the world.

The company hopes that he will be able to repeat the success he saw along with returning to Chinese social media and a giant giant Tencent. In 2001, the parent company Prosus bought almost 50% at Tencent for around $ 32 million. This early participation in Tencent is now worth billions of dollars, and the Wechat operator valued almost $ 600 billion on Monday.

“Companies there (in India) are still small, our investment is about $ 10 billion, as in China 14 years ago,” said CNBC CEO of Prosus Bloisi.

“What is science? We think it will be so, not a company worth $ 20 billion, but a company worth $ 100 billion, maybe half a trillion dollars in India. So we don't invest there to sell next month.”

Prosus has invested in one of the youngest technology companies in India, including PayU payments and E-commerce Meesho. Prosus is also the owner of almost 25% of the food supply company SwiggyIN which made public in November.

Bloisi said that exchanging the Prosus India investment is a key part of its strategy. He added that he is expecting five Indian companies in which Prosus is to conduct the first public offer this year.

“I think it is very good for India, because we have local markets investing in local companies. It was crucial for us, it was crucial for China. I think that if India can larger strong local markets investing in technology, it will be amazing for India,” said Bloisi.

Prosus also attacks large investments in Europe and Latin America.

The company's guide revolves around the idea of ecosystems surrounding the services, which Tencent managed to perform in China. TENCENT runs the largest Chinese application for sending a message called Wechat, which integrates functions such as payments and the ability to mutilate taxis or ordering food.

“We think that we have ecosystems, as in China in the United States, such as Microsoft, Uber, Google or Meta. They are not just one product. They have one product that allows sales and technology divided between many other neighbors. That's what we do,” said Bloisi.

In Latin America, Prosus has shares in a Brazilian company that provides food if food, an online travel company Despegrar and the OLX Brasil online market.

Bloisi said that the supply of food and payments is the basis of their investment, and then areas such as electronic trade and experiences such as travel.

“This is a kind of ecosystem. We learned that we do it from China in Latin America, very, very, very effective,” said Bloisi.

In the meantime, Prosus this year made a proposal To get a European food giant Just eat Takeaway.com Under a contract worth approximately 4.1 billion euros ($ 4.7 billion).

Bloisi said that Prosus officially began proceedings on Monday to obtain the consent of the European Commission to approve the contract. The CEO of Prosus said he was “optimistic”, that the European regulatory authorities will “approve it quickly”.
