A California mother who confronted Newsom about the wildfire response is speaking out


A California mother who confronted Gov. Gavin Newsom on handling his response devastating wildfires Los Angeles County asked him to clean things up and prepare the situation so that residents can begin to deal with the effects of the fire.

Rachel Darvish ran to Newsom, who was about to get into a black SUV, explaining that her daughter's school had been damaged.

“Please tell me what you're going to do,” said Darvish, who is an attorney.

Newsom responded that he was trying to reach President Biden to find out what they could do to help Darvish and his daughter.

“Can I hear? Can I hear your call? Because I don't believe it,” he responded. Newsom pointed to his phone, saying he had bad cell service and couldn't reach the president.

Darvish told “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Thursday that he wants to believe Newsom is telling the truth about trying to contact Biden.

“I really want to believe him. I really do, and there was no cell phone reception in some places, okay? But that's a big problem in itself. Why doesn't he have a satellite truck?” with a cell phone?” he asked.

Biden met with Newsom on Wednesday to be briefed on the many infernos burning across California.

The President received a major announcement of the Golden State disaster and announced Thursday federal government would cover “100%” of wildfire-related disaster response costs for 180 days.

Darvish said Pacific Palisades has had fires before and he wasn't sure why the response was slow.

“I came out of my house after I got the fire alarm and I packed up and left because the fire was there. When I came down, I didn't see the fire truck coming. will help me,” he said. Fox News host Jesse Watters.

He added that it is not the firefighters' fault because the orders “come from the top.”

As for Newsom, he said, “Governor, can you just clean this up fix it and move on? At least, that's what I like to see. But will that happen? I don't know. You know, these guys are rooted in what they do.”
