Apple's next major iPhone upgrade will reportedly include a new model called the iPhone 17 Air. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
Given Apple's success with the Air moniker for thinner MacBooks and iPads (I'm typing these words on my MacBook Air right now), it's an obvious way to expand the line, and may be more attractive than the iPhone Plus or mini.
Gurman says the iPhone 17 Air will include Apple's first in-house modem, which is rumored to debut in the new iPhone SE in the spring. This phone is two millimeters thinner than the current iPhones and is also Apple's thinnest smartphone. So it represents a step. A foldable iPhone and iPad. The company is reported to be developing in 2026 or later.
Other Apple products expected to be released in 2025, including the Gurman, have also been discounted. A smart home hub. Not included in the list: Vision Pro, the company's new version of the mixed-practice headset.
