MOSCOW (Reuters) – Ukraine hit Russian territories with a massive drone attack and US-made ATACMS missiles overnight, according to Russian Telegram channels and Russian war blogs.
The Shot Telegram channel said that Russia has shot down more than 200 Ukrainian drones and five ATACMS missiles.
“The enemy has organized a large-scale coordinated attack on the territory of Russia,” said two war bloggers.
Russia's defense ministry, which reports on such attacks, did not immediately respond. Reuters could not immediately confirm the reports.
In the Russian city of Engels, home to the air base where Russia's nuclear bombers are based, Saratov Governor Roman Busargin said industrial activity had been damaged by the drone but gave no further details.
Busargin said classes at Saratov and Engels schools will be held remotely. Flight restrictions were imposed in Kazan, Saratov, Penza and Ulyanovsk, the Russian air traffic control said.
