It was like a wild dream Deion Sanders may be the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, but it looked like something was up on Monday night.
Sanders and Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones discussed the possibility of Coach Prime making the jump from the collegiate to the NFL, FOX Sports reported, citing multiple sources. Talks were expected to continue as Dallas began its search for a new coach.

NFL Network reports that Sanders has “interest” in the Cowboys job, and Dallas also has “interest” in bringing him.
“Hearing from Jerry Jones is really cool, and it's amazing,” Sanders later told ESPN. “I love Jerry and I believe in Jerry. After you hang it, and work it, and think about it, it's amazing. But I love Boulder and everything about our team, the coaches, our student body and the community.”
Sanders had long refused to talk about quitting Colorado Buffaloes for the NFL. However, he has recently given up on whether he will take the NFL job – if he has the opportunity to coach his sons.
It may be difficult for the Cowboys to select quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the first round. Sanders is expected to be one of the first few players taken off the board. Dallas has the No. 1 pick. 12 of the plan and will need to take a big step up the board. The Cowboys may be able to take Shilo Sanders later in the draft.

Deion Sanders played for the Cowboys from 1995 to 1999. He was part of the organization's last Super Bowl – in 1995. He was a Pro Bowler four of those five seasons.
The Cowboys broke up with Mike McCarthy earlier than Monday after five seasons.
“Throughout Mike McCarthy's tenure here, including the last few weeks, I have been very appreciative of the work he has done,” Jones said in a statement. “That worked on our record during that time, our team's unity and culture, Mike's credentials and track record, and on a personal level as an amazing person.
