Meta is preparing for new layoffs. . CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a company memo that he plans to cut about five percent of its “low-performing companies.”
“I have decided to raise the bar on performance management and more quickly push out underperformers,” Zuckerberg said in the note. “We typically eliminate people who don't meet expectations within a year, but now we're going to make broader, performance-based cuts during this cycle.”
Overall, this could result in a 10 percent reduction in Meta's workforce when staff reductions are taken into account. Bloomberg suggested that upcoming drawings would target people “who have been with the company long enough to earn a performance rating.”
Due to increasing layoffs and attrition, about 7,000 Meta employees may leave the company in the near future. This follows the shooting which ultimately influences . The company also earlier this month.
