'This should be treated as a wrongful killing': Netizens react as Bengaluru bus drives on wrong side, raising road safety warnings

Reckless driving remains a significant safety issue across India, with frequent incidents highlighting the risks it can pose to everyone on the road. A recent incident in Bangalore has once again brought attention to the dangers of such behavior when a bus driver drove on the wrong side of the road.

A video shared on X (formerly Twitter) capturing the shocking incident was recorded by a driver traveling in the right lane. The clip shows the bus carelessly sailing against oncoming traffic, oblivious to the imminent danger to other vehicles. Despite the chaotic scene, the bus driver continues unflinchingly, endangering passengers and other road users.

According to comments on the viral post, the incident took place on Nice Road, specifically between Bannerghatta Junction and Electronic City Toll. A critical link in Bangalore's transport network has raised serious safety concerns due to driver negligence.

The post tagged the Bangalore City Traffic Police and demanded immediate action against the driver and the bus owner.

“Dangerous Driving Warning! Buses running the wrong way on Nice Road! Serious accidents can occur if a collision occurs due to this careless behavior. The driver and owner are responsible. Let's prioritize road safety,” the post read.

The video sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many condemning the reckless act of the bus driver. Many users demanded severe penalties, including cancellation of driver's license.

One user commented, “This should be treated as criminal murder.”

Another said: “This is the act of a sick mind. This bus driver is not mentally stable. He should be immediately arrested and jailed.”

Another said, “Wrong-way driving should be charged with attempted murder in an accident.”

“This is because the law is not strictly enforced. People feel that the police should be bribed,” one person wrote.

One user commented, “I'm so glad the general public can catch this but the authorities with all the money invested in technology and surveillance can't. This is definitely worth revoking the DL, blacklisting the driver so a new DL is never issued and severe penalties including charges of attempted murder.
