What happens when you switch your life to an AI assistant?

Gemini (archived audio): The main body weight exercises are squats, standing with feet shoulder-width apart, lowering hips as if sitting in a chair, keeping back straight and chest up. Get as low as you can comfortably go.

Michael Calorie: Lunges for each leg, three sets of 10 each, plank, three sets of holds for 30 to 60 seconds, it's torture. Glute bridge, 3 sets, 15 repetitions. And then it talks about progressive overload and it talks about rest days and all that, which is great. And then I thought, “Okay, I don't know how to do a lunge. Can you show me how to do a lunge?” And it gave me a bunch of videos, five videos.

Lauren Goode: Maybe YouTube?

Michael Calorie: Yes, those are YouTube videos. Two of the links were identical, but I watched all the videos and thought, “Okay, I feel like I can do a lunge now.” And I did a lunge and I didn't hurt myself, and I felt the burn. So I feel like that's pretty good.

Lauren Goode: That's actually pretty awesome.

Michael Calorie: Yes. The only strange thing is that I searched Google and found identical information from a few different places. And other than the video, I don't know where Gemini got this information from. I don't even know where he got the recipe from. It's all just presented to me as “This is what Gemini says.”

Lauren Goode: No sourcing.

Michael Calorie: No sourcing. And I looked into everything, but I didn't see any good sources.

Lauren Goode: And perhaps humans wrote those workout plans or wrote those recipes. And that's been published and sorry, but your microscopic data is now being chopped up and added to some formula and you have no idea where it came from.

Michael Calorie: Julienne.

Lauren Goode: That's right.

Zoe Schiffer: Okay, so are you planning on continuing this? Will you continue to use it for this purpose or is it more of a one-time experiment?

Michael Calorie: Honestly, the workout regimen is pretty solid. I will continue to do it.

Lauren Goode: Pretty.

Michael Calorie: And as for recipes, I have so many cookbooks and years of experience making my own food that I absolutely don't need to make this quinoa salad anymore, Lauren, unless you want me to make it and give it to you a little. its.

Lauren Goode: I've eaten other meals you cooked and I think maybe I'll suggest them next time.

Zoe Schiffer: So diplomatic.

Michael Calorie: Okay, great.

Lauren Goode: But thank you, appreciate you.

Michael Calorie: So I have to say, for me, as someone who understands myself and understands my own needs, that really doesn't help much. The workout was great. I could find that without the Gemini 2.O, but if someone is new to this or someone has a lot of questions or if someone is considering making these lifestyle changes, then It actually gave some pretty useful advice.
