Canon has ““, a new live streaming app for iOS that supports up to three camera views that you can switch between with just a few taps. The app currently only works with Apple devices and, oddly enough, does not support Canon's own cameras.
Live Switcher Mobile can allow users to specify how many seconds a viewpoint remains on the camera before automatically switching to another. The app also supports on-screen subtitles and real-time commentary. However, the latter feature only works if you stream to YouTube and Twitch, since notes that the app can also stream to other platforms that support RTMP, such as Facebook, X, Instagram, and even LinkedIn, among others.
Although Live Switcher Mobile is free, the free version only supports resolutions up to 720p. There will also be advertisements and watermarks on the screen. A costs $18 per month and unlocks picture-in-picture overlay, zoom, and pan features. Of course, the maximum resolution will be increased to 1080p, and ads and watermarks will be removed.
Live Switcher Mobile, compared to free apps like OBS Studio and Streamlabs, has fewer features, meaning Canon has a lot of work to do to make the paid plan worthwhile. Luckily, support for Canon cameras is coming soon.
