NBA postponed Wednesday's game between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Milwaukee Bucks due to a historic snowstorm affecting the area.
As the blizzard dropped nearly a foot of snow, it made travel difficult as the usually warm city was unprepared for the weather.
The Bucks they flew into town on Monday to beat a snowstorm, a day before they were scheduled to fly out for a game against the Pelicans.

But with temperatures still in the 30s on Wednesday, major highways in metro areas were closed by authorities and surface roads across the city were still covered in ice.
Schools and businesses across the region remained closed Wednesday, with Louis Armstrong International Airport canceling all commercial flights due to the weather. With these factors in mind, the NBA has postponed the game, with no set date for the game.

The Bucks next game is against Miami Heat return to Milwaukee on Thursday at 7:30 pm ET.
After that game against the Heat, the Bucks go on a West Coast road trip, starting Saturday, and don't have another home game until February 2nd.
The Bucks are scheduled for the next game the Pelicans to the regular season finale at home on April 9.

On the other hand, the Pelicans are scheduled to play on Friday and Saturday, making it difficult for the NBA to schedule a postponed game soon.
The Pelicans have struggled this season as they are 12-32, the second worst team in the Western Conference.
The Bucks have enjoyed a big win over the Pelicans, and are 24-17, good for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
