A tech professional in Bangalore accused his former manager of fostering a toxic work environment after he was fired from his role at the Indian branch of an American workforce management company. In a LinkedIn post dated Dec. 20, the employee described his struggles during his short tenure, citing micromanagement, excessive workloads and over-focusing on minor mistakes as the main reasons for his difficulties in the workplace.
The tech professional, who previously worked at Amazon and Revolut, shared that he joined the company on September 9, 2024 with enthusiasm and a willingness to adapt, despite having no prior experience in SaaS (Software as a Service). He stated that he openly admitted his lack of experience during the interview process and was willing to learn. However, he alleged that the organization did not provide adequate training or mentoring to support his growth and success.
The employee alleged that she was expected to match the performance of more experienced colleagues without adequate support. “I am new to the system, payroll process, and Salesforce, but I was not given constructive guidance on these tools or processes,” he wrote. He further explained that he had not been taught how to properly log breaks, resulting in the system automatically marking him as offline during short periods of inactivity, which compounded his difficulties.
He accused his manager of prioritizing minor infractions over meaningful support, such as focusing on instances where he overstayed his break by a minute. Instead of providing constructive feedback or support to improve his performance, the manager, he claimed, emphasized these minor issues.
The employee expressed frustration with the workload, saying he was assigned to handle 35-40 cases weekly, often given additional assignments just before the end of his shift. This led to frequent overtime, which he described as a lack of empathy or flexibility from his manager. “When I worried about the extended hours and asked for guidance on managing my workload, I was met with dismissive responses such as, 'Your open cases should be resolved any way you like,'” he alleged. did
He also highlighted that strict adherence to break-ins and unclear protocols added to his challenges. Focusing too much on minor delays or mistakes, he said, fosters a stressful and demotivating work environment.
Another former employee of the same company corroborated the allegations, sharing his own “very bad experience” with the organization's work culture in a LinkedIn post. A second employee's warning to avoid the company further underscores claims of a toxic work environment.
The Bengaluru techie's job ended after less than four months, a decision linked to the difficulties he faced during his tenure. Despite his desire to adapt and grow, he expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of mentoring and effective leadership.
The allegations have sparked widespread discussions online about workplace culture, especially in Indian management teams of multinational companies. So far, neither the organization nor the manager involved in the allegations have issued an official response.
