The absolute best horror movies on Hulu


Hulu is full of fascinating horror movies. Before we get into a list of the absolute best streaming service options, let's cover some worthy alternatives.

Hulu is home to David Cronenberg's Future Crimes (2022) and Fede Alvarez's Alien: Romulus (2024). There's also the black comedy slasher American Psycho (2000), the twisty thriller Warbarary (2022), and the romance-gone-wrong Fresh (2022). This thriller stars the attractive Nell Tiger Free (Myrcella Baratheon on Game of Thrones) as an American woman working in Rome who discovers a scheme to birth the antichrist. It is a foreshadowing to Omen in 1976.

A teenage girl is viciously abused at a local pool, then happens upon a stranger who kidnaps her three tormentors. This gripping, Spanish-language film is based on a short film and stars Laura Galan.

Umbrella party

A possessed girl is a special guest on a talk show in 1977 in this horror, which gradually gets more intense. The film stars David Dastmalchian as Jack Delroy, a charismatic host who wants to increase his ratings. If you're craving supernatural horror, stay seated for this terrifying Halloween special.

Neon

Mia Goth and Alexander Skarsgård star in this disturbing film directed by Brandon Cronenberg (son of horror director David) about a vacationing couple who venture outside an island resort and accidentally commit a crime. You won't be able to take your eyes off Scream Queen Goth, and succession fans will enjoy more than the talented Skarsgård.

IFC Films

This Finnish creature film is dug straight from your feathered nightmares. The flick introduces Tinja, a 12-year-old girl who discovers a strange egg hatching into a monstrous bird. The monstrous creature greatly contradicts her family's expectations of perfection. So it's kind of like a cursed version of ET well, maybe not. You can watch and come to your own conclusions.

You Are Not My Mother introduces Char, a bright teenager who lives with her grandmother and mentally ill mother, Angela. Angela disappears, and when she returns, she acts eerily different. It's a nasty, slow-burning mystery that you'll want to stick with, anchored by a strong central character.
