According to the agency's website, the recall concerns the 2025-2023 Niro EV, plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and hybrids.
The Jan. 17 statement said: “The floor wiring assembly (of the recalled vehicles) under the front passenger seat may be damaged, which could prevent the airbags and seat belts from deploying properly or cause an airbag to deploy. Be unwanted with the side curtain.”
According to NHTSA, when an air bag deploys improperly or unintentionally, the risk of injury can increase during a crash.
