'Bachelorette' star's husband reveals thyroid cancer diagnosis


Ali Fedotowsky-Manno's husband, Kevin Manno, was diagnosed with a form of thyroid cancer.

The “Bachelorette” star she appeared next to her husband in a video shared on Instagram, where they not only talked about his death, but also encouraged fans to share their experiences of going through thyroid cancer.

Manno, a radio and television presenter, revealed that he was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer after doctors found “two malignant spots in on his right side,” in addition to possible lymph node cancer.

“We recently found out that @kevinmanno has Papillary Thyroid Cancer. Fortunately it's a very treatable cancer,” he captioned the video. “He has 2 scarred spots on his right side and it looks like it's also one lymph node, but we won't know for sure until his surgery.”

She added, “Please share any experiences you have with thyroid cancer, and we'd love to hear about stories related to whether you or someone you know has had has the entire thyroid or half of it removed with cancer on one side only. The surgeon goes in there and decides that the whole thing has to be removed regardless, of course we're going to go ahead with that, but to in practice, you have the choice to be aggressive or to leave half if possible.

In a joint video shared on Instagram, Kevin said, “We always try to be open and honest with you. We're open books about our lives. We want to give you a quick update on what's going on here. The Manno family, but I'm not pressing about that.

“I know Ali recently shared this that I had to go for a biopsy, then like a CT scan, and it came back that I had. thyroid cancer, but I am not afraid. All is well.”

“Eventually, it went into a lymph node,” Ali said before Kevin added, “Which is still easy to fix.”

“We don't want to downplay what cancer is and what it means to so many people,” Ali said.

“The report is very good. You call it good or bad, I don't know. But it looks good,” Kevin said before adding that he is hopeful for the surgery date of February 10. “We will remove it and it will be behind us.”

“I think Kevin has a very positive attitude about this,” Ali agreed. “That's where I need my brain to be,” Kevin said. “I shouldn't be stressed, you know?”

The former Hallmark Channel star says her husband's diagnosis has changed their outlook on life, however. “Enjoy every day. Love your kids, love your family,” Kevin added.

Fedotowsky-Manno, 40, first found fame as a character on Season 14 of “The Bachelor,” before returning a year later as the star of the sixth season of the popular dating competition series, “The Bachelorette .”

While engaged in “The Bachelorette” winner Roberto Martinez did not last, he later found love in the hands of radio and TV host Kevin Manno. The couple got married in March 2017 and have two children.
