According to Google, pressing the new shortcut “Analysis for understanding” on sheets will tell you that the Gemini proposed information about “contextual trends, templates and correlations between various variables”. The agent will also create diagrams based on your data that you can insert as static images into your document. Depending on the complexity of the clue, Gemini will use the Python code to fulfill the request.
There are several noticeable restrictions in the current implementation of the function. For example, Google notes that after you inserted the diagram, it cannot be changed. In addition, any twin charts are generated, will not be directly related to your data, so they will not be automatically updated after you make changes.
Separately, Google recommends users to be as specific as possible when submitting twins to provide data. “For the most accurate results, make sure your data is in constant format, with clear headlines and the lack of missed values,” the company adds.
You can use the updated Gemini side panel on sheets if you pay for Google One Ai Premium, or if your company is a client of business or corporate workspace with a standard or plus plan. Anyone who has the formation of twins, a premium for the education of twins, a business of twins or the addition of twins will also gain access. Google expects to complete the deployment of this function until February 20, so you may not see in your version of the sheets at once.
