Dragon Age: Guardian of the Veil Wasting no time in showcasing the glory of its graphic prowess and epic storytelling. Once you've spent some time with its (excellent) character creator, it'll only be a few minutes before you'll start fighting to stop the end of the world. Solas, the surprise villain from the previous game, is trying to break the boundary between the spirit and human worlds. And in the process, his magical ceremony fills the screen with a dazzling array of neon lights, colors and shadows. If you have a modern GPU, you're in for a ray tracing workout.
I'm a sucker for simple pleasures, and I'll admit, that bombastic opening sequence alone was enough to make me fall in love. Dragon Age: Veilgarde Guardian. But what kept me playing was the classic BioWare formula of intriguing characters and sharp storytelling. I will forgive many mistakes Mass Effect Andromeda, Veilgard The ragtag team of heroes makes it clear that BioWare still has its own narrative.
But what's really surprising is that Dragon Age: Guardian of the Veil it's also a decent RPG with fast-paced and challenging combat that's more reminiscent of the recent game. God of War games than anything from Dragon Age proper. There is a rich skill tree and you can always re-specialize without penalty.
For a game that can take hundreds of hours to complete, veilgarde I still manage to feel fresh and exciting every time I sit down to play. So I don't really mind if it isn't as strong as previous entries or if it doesn't give you as much consistent choice as Baldur's Gate 3.
