The National Lacrosse League is launching an investigation after a player got into a postgame fight with fans


The National Lacrosse League has launched an investigation after a strange incident occurred after a recent Halifax Thunderbirds game.

Video posted online shows lacrosse player Tyson Bell getting into a physical altercation with fans after Saturday's game against Colorado Mammoth. At one point during the fight, Bell was seen using his lacrosse stick.

The NLL has acknowledged that it is aware of what happened after last week's game.

“The National Lacrosse League is aware of an alleged incident between a player and spectators after the Halifax game in Colorado on December 21st,” the NLL said in a statement released on December 22nd. “The Alliance will provide an update. after it completes its investigation.”

A video shared on social media appeared to show Bell “attacking fans with his fists before hitting them with a stick,” TMZ Sports.

Supporters were seen cursing the athletes as they made their way to the locker room. Bell's co-workers eventually stepped in and stopped him from trying to sabotage the situation.

Colorado beat Halifax on Saturday. Colorado forward Will Malcolm led the team with 10 points and seven rebounds in the 9-14 win. Meanwhile, Bell did not record a goal during the game.

Further details about the incident were not immediately available.

The Thunderbirds host the Albany FireWolves on December 28 at the Scotiabank Centre.
