President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy Russian President Vladimir Putin was criticized on Wednesday for launching attacks against power plants on Christmas Day.
Zelenskyy suggested that the attacks were “inhumane,” but said they would not spoil Christmas.
“Today, Putin deliberately chose Christmas for an attack. What could be more inhumane? More than 70 missiles, including ballistic ones, and more than a hundred attack drones. The targets are the tools of our power. They continue to fight to extinguish Ukraine ” he said in the post.
Russia's Defense Ministry acknowledged a “major strike” on its part, saying it hit power plants that support Ukraine's “military and industrial complex,” Reuters reported.
“The objective of the strike has been achieved. All buildings have been hit,” said the Ministry.

The attacks against Ukraine's oil and energy resources included 78 air, ground and sea missiles, in addition to 106 Shahed and other types of drones, the Ukrainian air force said, in according to The Associated Press.
“Unfortunately, there have been sanctions. As of now, there is a lack of electricity in several areas. Energy engineers are working to restore the electricity supply as soon as possible,” Zelenskyy noted.
However, the Ukrainian leader declared that “Russian evil will not destroy Ukraine and will not destroy Christmas.”
