BEIJING (Reuters) – China on Thursday revised up its 2023 gross domestic product (GDP) by 2.7% to 129.4 trillion yuan ($17.73 billion), the head of the National Bureau of – Statistics Kang Yi said at a press conference in Beijing.
The fifth National Economic Census, released by the center on Thursday, showed more businesses and the number of people employed in medium enterprises and higher education institutions at the end of 2023 compared to the end of 2018.
But people employed in property developers fell by 27% to 2.71 million at the end of 2023, against the end of 2018, the economic census data showed.
