Israel hits Yemen airport in Sanaa, Hodeidah power station: Reports | Story

POSSIBILITY,

Israel launches airstrikes in Yemen targeting Sanaa airport, military base and Hodeidah power plant.

Several Israeli attacks have targeted airports, military bases and power plants in Yemen, Israel and Houthi media.

Sanaa's airport and neighboring Al-Dailami were hit along with a power plant in Hodeidah, in an attack that the Houthis' Al-Masirah TV channel called “Israeli aggression”.

There was no immediate comment from Israel on the strike, which comes a day after Yemen fired a ballistic missile and two drones at Israel.

On Saturday, a Houthi missile attack left 16 people injured in Tel Aviv. Saturday's incident brought a warning from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said he had ordered the destruction of Houthi infrastructure.

Yemen's Houthi fighters have targeted Israel and its associated ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since Israel launched an offensive on Gaza on October 7, 2023, following a Hamas-led invasion of Israel.

The Houthis are said to be acting in solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza conflict in which Israel has killed more than 45,000 people, mostly children and women.

Lots to follow.
