Apple has released the first public beta version of iOS 18.4 On February 24, more than a month after the announcement of the company iOS 18.3 to the public. While that update brought some important repairs to all iPhoneThe latest beta brings several new features to developers and public beta -testers, such as priority notifications.

Since this is beta, I only recommend downloading something other than your primary device. Since this is not the latest version of iOS 18.4, the update can be convertible and battery life can be short, so it is best to keep these problems on a secondary device.
Note that beta is not the latest version of iOS 18.4, so there may be more landing features on your iPhone when iOS 18.4 are released. Apple said in a statement sent to CNET that iOS 18.4 will be made public in April, but there is no exact date.
Here's what you can land on your iPhone with iOS 18.4 soon. And just a reminder that only developers and beta -testers who have iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max or on Lining iPhone 16 You can access any features of Apple's intelligence so far. If you have another iPhone, you will not have access to those features.
Notifications of Priorities with Apple Intelligence
Developers and beta-testers with iPhone-compatible with Apple Intelligence will receive a new feature called priority notifications with iOS 18.4 beta.
“Apple's intelligence can show you notifications that can be important in a separate section of the lock screen so you can level what you may have missed,” Apple writes in the post description. “You can still withdraw to see all the notifications.”
Priority notifications were excluded by default after I downloaded the update, but you can turn it on by going to Settings> Notifications> Prioritize Notifications and eavesdropping on the inclusion immediately to prioritize notifications.
Sketch mode in a picture playground
Does the astronaut enter the picture? Where is the left hand?
The playground is an apple intelligence image generator, and in iOS 18.4 Beta, Apple brings a new style of art to the application called Sketch. The new style of art creates a fully colored image that looks like a sketch you can see in someone's notebook. But there are still many imperfections in these photos.
The playground had two styles of art before this update, one called animation – which created 3D images – and the other called illustration – what cardboard images did.
Ambient music in the control center
If you want to have music playing in the background while working, doing tasks or relaxing, you can now easily access ambient music in your iPhone control center with beta -IOS 18.4.
To find these controls, pull down from the top right corner of your screen to open your control center, tap Plus (+) Sign in to the upper left corner of your screen, tap Add control Then you should see a new part of controls called Ambient music. There are four options for ambient music: sleep, cold, productivity and well -being. Tap one (or all) of these controls to add them to your control center. Once the controls are in your control center, tap control and start playing music.
You can also change the playlist for each control. To do this, enter your control center, tap Plus (+) Sign in to the upper left corner of your screen, tap the ambient sound you want to edit and then tap the playlist to the right of the right of the Playlist. If you are in Chill Control, for example, the standard playlist is Laidback Lo-Fi. Once you are eavesdropping on the playlist, you will see more options, such as the piano piano, ambient development, or even the option of the library that retires from your music. Tap the playlist you want and will be assigned to that control.
There is no need to find a playlist to study now.
I love this supplement to my iPhone because I always fight the playlist at the beginning of my work day. Tap productivity control makes it easier to play music when I wait for my coffee and I still don't want to make a musical decision. However, I wish all these controls to be grouped into one control or accessory.
This is also an interesting accessory to your iPhone as your phone can already turn into a white noise machine with Sounds background. It feels like Apple trying to make your iPhone the first device to turn when you need music to help you fall asleep or be more productive, potentially drain other services that offer similar playlists, such as Spotify or YouTube.
Recipes in News by Apple
Apple News Plus costs $ 12 a month and gives you access to articles from large publications, puzzles and soon – recipes.
In iOS 18.4 Beta, subscribers can access a new part in Apple News called Food, which is filled with recipes from publications such as food and wine, good food and much more. Subscribers can save recipes on their devices to access the offline later, and the new cooking mode will display instructions on the full screen so you can easily follow them with recipes while in your kitchen.
Eate I eat the entire pan of bars for cinnamon “cinnamon toast”.
The new part of food also has stories about restaurants, healthy eating tips and more, but to be honest, having access to all those recipes is a great addition. The inclusion of this feature of Apple is probably the tech giant that is trying to take the cooking parts and recipes for other publications.
For example, the Yorkyork Times started its Cooking part in 2014and time said there was Nearly 600,000 cooking subscribers By 2020. The section is not included in the basic plan for subscription to the publication, so you have to pay an additional 6 USD month or subscribe to a more expensive plan to access this section.
But Apple does not charge additional access to recipes such as times. This makes the “Apple News Plus” subscription more valuable for domestic chefs, or anyone trying to become a better chef at no extra cost.
More standard changes in the application
When Apple announced it iOS 18.2 In December, that update allows you to change standard applications for things as messages and reference. And with iOS 18.4 Beta, Apple allows some people to change more standard applications.
A new standard application category is translation. With beta, you can change the standard iPhone-Apple Translate translation application to another third-party application, such as Google Translate.
And according to 9TO5MACPeople in the European Union can also change their standard navigation application. Apple Maps is standard for this category, but people in the EU can change it to another application, like Waze.
Changes in podcast
You can set your podcast accessory just to play episodes of your favorite show.
Beta iOS 18.4 also brings several new updates to the Podcasts application. If you want to add podcast accessory to your home screen, now you have more options, including shows and a library. Choosing an emission accessory will play episodes of a particular show you follow, and the choice of a library will play episodes from the list you list in your library.
In the latest beta there are two new settings in the last beta, Podcast settings and Notification settings. You can find them by opening the application podcasts and touching your profile image in the upper right corner of your screen. But these new settings do nothing in this beta, no matter how many times you press, so I hope Apple adds functionality to the future update.
Siri, Apple Intelligence and iPhone apps
Who would have thought the phone could open a phone?
With iOS 18.4 Beta, iPhones with the possibility of intelligence Apple can use Siri to find out more about iPhone apps. To access this, log into the application as messages, mail or settings, and then tap twice at the bottom of your access screen type of Siri. Then Siri will show you some suggestions based on the application you are in.
So if you're on the phone, Siri will show “What can I do by phone?” Tap this suggestion and you will get a list of activities you can do in the application, how to make a call, call on FaceTime or a strange, open phone. Thanks, Siri, I would never think I would be able to open a phone after I opened a phone.
Apple intelligence comes to more people
One of the obstacles to accessing Apple Intelligence is to have an iPhone compatible, but for many people around the world with an appropriate device, those features are still off. But that will change with iOS 18.4.
Apple wrote online that apple intelligence will be available in many languages, including Spanish, French and JapaneseWhen iOS 18.4 is released in April. The tech giant also wrote that people in the EU can access Apple Intelligence for the first time with the upcoming update.
These are some of the new features that developers and public beta testers can try with the first public beta of iOS 18.4. There will probably be more betts before the operating system is released, so there is plenty of time for Apple to change these features.
