From solar-powered cars to floating cell towers in the sky, a number of companies are working on technologies designed to build a more sustainable future. Here are some of the most exciting green technologies to watch out for in 2025.
We start with the Aptera, a super-efficient electric vehicle powered at least in part by solar energy that's been in production for nearly 20 years. Me visited Aptera HQ in 2022, where I rode in some of the prototypes.
Aptera's aerodynamic shape is designed to maximize efficiency and make the most of its solar panels.
The company recently unveiled its production-intent model, where the results of all that prototyping and testing came together.
We follow companies like Cleaning the ocean and The serial cleaners who make machines dedicated to cleaning up our shared natural spaces.

This year we also visited companies such as Sceye and Tomorrowwho are working to build a more sustainable infrastructure. Verdagy aims to use its scalable, modular electrolyzer technology to lower the cost of green hydrogen to make it competitive with fossil fuels.

Sceye is working on high-altitude platform systems that use helium to lift them into the stratosphere where they can operate as a geostationary satellite without needing a fuel-guzzling rocket ride.
