Greenland Prime Minister Mute Burup Eged rejected President Trump's demand in his broad address on Tuesday night that the US is “going to get” Control over Greenland.
“We need Greenland for national security and even international security. And we work with all the participants to try to get it,” Mr. Trump said. “But we really need it for international world safety. And I think we will get it – one way or another, we will get it. We will keep you safe. We will make you rich. And together we will take Greenland to height as you have never thought before.”
“Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland in Greenland) is ours,” Eged wrote on social media. “We do not want to be Americans or the Danes; we are a cololarite. The Americans and their leader must understand it. We are not sold and cannot simply be accepted. Our future will decide us in Greenland.”

Earlier, Mr. Trump raised Greenland, located in the northeast of Canada and is largely covered with Greenland's ice cover. The largest island in the world, but only about 60,000 people live, Greenland is the semi-autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, with its own elected government.
Denmark Defense Minister Truls Lund Pulsen also responded to Mr. Trump's claims about Greenland's hobbies, informing the Danish public television broadcasters on Wednesday: “This will not happen.”
“The direction that Greenland wants to accept Greenland will be decided,” Pulsen said.
The location of Greenland between the US, Russia and Europe makes it strategic for both economic and defense purposes, especially since the melting of marine ice has opened new delivery routes through the Arctic.
The north -western passage, or the northern sea route, first crossed the winter months of the Russian commercial ship a few years ago and is the shortest route connecting the main ports of East Asia with Europe and the Atlantic Ocean. Western powers have expressed concern over Russia and China, using it to increase their presence in the North Atlantic.
Greenland also has oil, natural gas and very much in demand mineral resources, and this is the location of the northernmost military base.
