Swiggy needs a 'Gift Curator' to plan high-end gift collections worldwide; Here's what you should have

Swiggy is looking for a “Gift Curator” to create premium gift products for Indian and global markets. Shivangi Srivastava, Assistant Vice President of New Initiatives at the food delivery giant, shared this exciting job opening at X.

“Here's a very interesting job description we're hiring at Swiggy,” she posted. “Looking to find a gift curator capable of curating high-end gift products from India and around the world. We are looking for someone with exceptional taste and aesthetic sensibility. Please DM.”

Although the post drew some attention on social media, Swiggy did not provide additional information about the post on its website. The announcement also drew comparisons with rival Zomato looking for a chief of staff. “After reading the first line I thought Swiggy is hiring a crew chief too,” commented X user Kshitij Kulshreshtha (@kshitijkulsh).

On November 20, Zomato co-founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal shared that the company is looking for a chief of staff to help manage it, but the role is non-traditional. The unique feature of the post was that the employee would be paid Rs 20 Lakhs in their first year and the salary in the second year would exceed Rs 50 Lakhs.

“I am looking for a chief of staff for myself,” Goyal wrote in X. “However, this role is not a traditional role with the usual perks that come with such jobs. In fact, we make this job unattractive to many people. There is no salary for this role for the first year, 20 lakhs as direct donation for this opportunity. It pays to feed India.”

To show that the company is not trying to cut costs, Zomato announced that it will donate Rs 50 lakh (equivalent to the salary of a chief of staff) to a charity of the employee's choice.

“From the second year, we will start paying you the usual salary (definitely more than Rs 50 lakh, but we are talking only at the beginning of year 2),” Goyal added.
