“Nervously waves, terrifying and terrifying.”
Here's how a witness described his attempt to get off the American Airlines flight, which was lit after being forced to make an emergency landing in Colorado.
Some of the 172 passengers traveling on the Dallas fields were spotted standing on the wing of the plane after he touched Denver, with large flows of smoke around them.
Everyone on board, including six crew members, made it alive from the plane, with 12 passengers being treated at a hospital for minor injuries, according to airport officials.
One of these passengers, Michele Woods, told CBS News, the BBC American partner, how everything for the flight looks normal when take -off.
Only when they were walking in the air did she notice a loud noise that was reflected in one of the engines of the aircraft.
Later later, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the plane diverted to Denver around 5:15 pm local time (11:15 pm) after the crew reported “engine vibrations”.
But even when the plane landed, passengers soon realized that they were still far from safety.
“Everything was fine, but then there was a smoke filling the cabin,” said G -ja Woods, who returned home after attending a commercial exhibition in Colorado.
Sitting in front of the plane, she explained how one of the few in a position where they were able to get off the plane after touched.
Other passengers, such as Viral images now From the fed people standing on the wing of the smoking show, there was not so much escape.
Ingrid Hibit, who was traveling 1006 with his husband and daughter, was one of the unhappy few forced to the wing before he could contact his family on earth.
“(You can see) flames from the window and the windows (were) a kind of melting,” G -hibit told CBS. Given from the plane, it turned out to be a difficult task – she did not help, she said she was dressed in Birkenstock sandals.
“I was like trembling, I wasn't stable,” she admitted.
The addition of her worries, the fact, was not the fact that she, nor any member of her family, were sitting in the same section of the aircraft. They could only communicate through text messages.
“I hoped everything was fine, but we really didn't know for sure,” she said, adding that despite the test for only 10 minutes, it was very 10 minutes long. “
“It was a really great feeling to see everyone was fine.”
She and her family have finally touched the Dallas Worth International Airport on Friday morning, along with several of the other passengers.
The help, she said, went through the group, especially after a “exhausting” episode that overshadowed the beginning of their family vacation.
“If that would happen in the air, I don't think we would tell this story at all, because who knows what it would be,” she said. “I am grateful that everyone survived.”
