Cuba moved a large -scale shutdown of electricity on Friday night, affecting Havana and the provinces of the country that left millions in the dark.

The Cuba Ministry of Energy and Malova said that at about 8:15 pm local time shutdown at the Diezmero substation on the outskirts of Havana caused a “significant loss of the generation in the Western Cuba and, together with it, the failure of the national electric system.”

The ministry on its account on social platform X, which is “working on the recovery process”.

The streets of Havana were dark and empty, and the light walked only from the windows of the hotels that had generators. The Internet service was affected.

People in the provinces are as far away as Guantanamo, Artemis, Santiago -de -Kuba and Santa Clara, say that they are experiencing off with just flashing light.
