The rescuers in Myanmar removed a woman alive from the debris of a collapsed apartment block in Mandalay, more than a day after being trapped.
After a few hours of diligent work, the 30-year-old Phyu Lay Khaing was pulled out of the remains and carried by a stretcher as the observers cheered.
She hugged her husband before being taken to a hospital for a medical assessment.
More than 1,600 people were killed in Myanmar and thousands of more darted after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake, which also caused significant damage in neighboring countries.
