Democrats have launched a 'measured effort' to undermine SCOTUS since Dobbs, CBS reporter says


Senate Democrats announced a “measured effort” to undermine it public opinion about the Supreme CourtCBS News reporter Jan Crawford argued Sunday.

After CBS anchor Major Garrett revealed the court's record low approval rating on “Face the Nation” on Sunday, Crawford suggested that the news began before 2024.

“It actually started and started after the Dobbs decision, the court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade,” Crawford said. “The anger was so extreme that you saw, I think, a concerted effort to undermine the legitimacy of the Supreme Court by Democrats, Senate Democrats. . . So that has an impact on public opinion.”

He continued, “The public is beginning to believe that this court is corrupt, that this is going on. None of it is true. This is still a court – you can disagree with their decisions – it's a very conservative court. These are nine justices who have very different views on how to interpret the Constitution, this kind of legal battle, not politics.

Crawford spoke highly presidential immunity case from earlier this summer, where, in a 6-3 decision, the court ruled that former presidents such as President-elect Donald Trump have immunity from prosecution in connection with the actions of the law.

He criticized Democratic opponents who “haunted” the case when the decision actually protected President Biden from impeachment.

“If we look at the public opinion polls, of course, the court has acted, but it is true over the years. still far above ours. other institutions, including the White House, Congress, and the press,” Crawford said.

A Fox News survey got Supreme Court approval dropped to a record low in 2024 at 38% with 60% disapproval. The investigation was conducted a few days after the court's decision on the immunity of the president.
