Israel announced on Wednesday a serious expansion of military operations in Gaza, saying that large areas of the enclave will be confiscated and added to security zones, accompanied by a large -scale evacuation.
Israeli leaders were encouraged by signs of Gaza's protest against Hamas, a combat group that had controlled the enclave since 2007, and the extended operation seemed at least partly to increase civil pressure to their leaders.
In a statement, the defense minister Israel Katz said that the evacuation would take place from the areas in which he fought, calling Gazanów to eliminate Hamas and return Israeli hostages as the only way to end the war.
The Israeli army has already released evacuation warnings to gazans living around the southern city of Rafah and the city of Khan Younis, telling them to move to the Al-Mawasi area on the shore, previously designated the Humanitarian Zone.
The Israeli army radio said that the 36th division, sent to the southern command area last month to prepare for surgery in Gaza, would take part in the surgery.
Katz's statement did not explain how many land Israel intends to take over.
The Israeli forces have already established a significant buffer zone in Gaza, expanding the area that existed around the edge of the enclave before the war and adding a large safety area in the so -called Netzarim corridor through the center of gauze.
At the same time, Israeli leaders said that they were planning to facilitate the voluntary departure of Palestinians from the enclave, after US President Donald Trump called for permanent evacuation and reconstruction as a seaside resort under US control.
Katz's comments appeared after the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeated the recurring calls of Hamas to disarm and said that the use of military pressure was the best way to recover the remaining 59 hostages.
“I call on the inhabitants of Gaza to act now to eliminate Hamas and return all kidnapped,” said Katz in his statement, which added that the operation will clean the area of fighters and their infrastructure.
“This is the only way to end the war,” said Katz.
The war is developing
Last month, Israel resumed air strikes in Gaza and sent ground troops back, after two months of relative peace after the end of a truce supported by the US to allow the replacement of hostages owned by Hamas for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.
Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed since the resumption of strikes, and Israel also cut off the help for the enclave, saying that many materials in which Hamas appears and used for their own members.
Efforts conducted by Katari and Egyptian mediators in order to return to the right tracks did not make progress.
As the surgery escalated in Gaza, Israel also went to southern Lebanon and Syria, with a blow to the Hezbollah commander in the southern suburbs of Beirut on Tuesday, which increased the shot -shot weapon suspension agreements, which largely stopped the fighting in January.
In addition, Israeli troops are still carrying out a major operation on the occupied West Brzeg, which according to the army aims to destroy groups of fighters supported by Iran in refugee camps.
Israel attacked gauze after a destructive attack on the community in southern Israel by thousands of bandits led by Hamas, who killed 1,200 people according to Israel, and saw 251 recognized as hostages to Gaza.
The Israeli campaign killed over 50,000 Palestinians and devastated gauze zones, forcing almost the entire population of 2.3 million from their homes, leaving hundreds of thousands of tents and improvised shelters.
