Actor and director of veteran Bollywood Manoi Kumar died at the age of 87 in the financial capital of India, Mumbai.
The actor died of “health-related problems associated with age”, Dr. Santosh Shetti of Kokilaben DriBhai Ambani Hospital, where the actor was accepted.
His son Kuna Goswami told the Ani News Agency that Kumar has been fighting health problems for a long time.
Kumar leaves behind a rich heritage of patriotic films that encourage him to be famous in the 60's and 70s.
Kumar, which was originally called Harikrishan Goswami, was born in 1937 in the northern state of Pendjab.
He carries a niche for himself in the Hindi industry with films such as Shaheed, Rotti Kapada Aur Makaan and Kranti. Known for his patriotic flame, his films hit the chord with the Indian public.
Kumar has received numerous awards over the years, including Padma Shri – the fourth highest civil award in India.
His contribution was won by the Dadasaheb Falke Award, the highest cinematographic honor in India.
The stands are poured into social media to mourn his death.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called it “Indian cinema icon”.
“The works of Mano G (the term of Hindi respect) have lit a spirit of national pride and will continue to inspire generations,” he wrote in a publication of X.
Director Ashokes Pandit said his death was “a big loss to the (film) industry” and that the whole industry will miss it.
