Michelle Obama stated against rumors that her marriage to Barack Obama could be in difficulty.
The former first lady did not accompany her husband at several events with a high profile-including Donald Trump's office and the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter-Pod, the speculation that they may be separated.
Without explicitly mentioning these occasions, Da -ja Obama told a podcast for work in progress, hosting the actress Sofia Bush, that she is now able to control her own calendar as a “grown -up woman”.
She said that people were not able to believe that she “decides” for herself and instead “must assume that my husband and I divorce.”
D -Ja Obama said she was guilty of retreating from certain obligations.
“This is what we, like women, I think we are fighting as disappointing people,” she said.
“I want to say, so much that this year people could not even understand that I made a choice for myself, that they had to guess that my husband and I were divorcing.
“This cannot be an older woman who just makes a set of decisions for herself, right? But this is what society does for us.”
D -Ja Obama also said in the podcast: “I chose to do what was best for me. Not what I had to do. Not what I thought other people wanted me to do.”
Her absence from President Trump's assumption is seen as a break from tradition.
Although he has spent more time for himself, the former first lady said that she still finds time to “export speeches, to be there around the world, to work on projects. I am still interested in the education of the girls.”
Obamas celebrates its 32nd anniversary last year in October.
Earlier, Mrs. Obama was open to the struggles she had encountered in her marriage due to the political ambitions and time of Mr. Obama at the White House in her best-selling memoir.
