US President Donald Trump is in “excellent cognitive and physical health,” his doctor at the White House says.
In the first annual physician of his second presidential term at a hospital in the Washington region in the DC, Trump also found that there were scars “on the right ear from a firearm” after attempting to kill last July.
“President Trump remains in excellent health, showing a healthy heart, pulmonary, neurological and general physical function,” Captain Sean Barbabella said in a note to his doctor.
At 78, Trump was the biggest president to take office in January, although his predecessor Joe Biden was more acclaimed at 82 until he left.
As part of the almost five -hour medical examination at the Walter Reed Hospital in Besda, Maryland, Trump received several blood tests, a heart examination and ultrasound, said his doctor, the US naval doctor who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“His active lifestyle continues to contribute significantly to his well-being,” writes Dr. Barbabella in the note, released from the White House on Sunday.
“President Trump exhibits perfectly cognitive and physical health and is completely fit to fulfill the obligations of the commander -in -chief and head of state.”
The president has received neurological tests for his mental status, nerves, motor and sensory functions and reflexes and showed no signs of depression or anxiety, according to the note.
Trump also received the cognitive assessment of Montreal (MOCA) and scored 30 out of 30, said Dr. Barbabella. The test is commonly used to detect cognitive decline and early signs of dementia and have tasks such as animal naming, drawing a clock and repeating words back five minutes later.
Speaking to reporters aboard the Air Force One on Saturday, Trump said he “received every answer” of the cognitive test.
“In general, I felt I was in very good shape,” Trump said. “Good heart, good soul, very good soul.”
He added that doctors gave him a “little” tips on changes in lifestyle to improve his health, although he did not provide details.
Dr. Barbabella also said that Trump has “minor sun damage” and several “benign skin lesions”.
The president is taking several medicines to control his cholesterol – rosuvastatin and ezetimib – as well as aspirin for cardiac prophylaxis and Momethasone skin cream, the note said.
Trump's cardiac exam showed “no anomalies,” writes Dr Barbabella.
The exam was noted by the president's medical history of “well -controlled hypercholesterolemia”, a condition that can increase the patient's risk from a heart attack.
Other conditions marked in his medical history include a past infection with cow, rosacea, which is a condition of the skin, often causing redness in the face, and a benign colon polyp.
The president weighs 224 pounds (101 kg) and stands 6 feet with a height of 2.5 inches, according to D -R Barbabella records. Trump has lost a few pounds since February 2019, when he weighed 243 pounds.
According to the calculator of the body mass index, it will currently be categorized in the range of overweight rather than obesity.
The memorandum noted that “the joints and muscles of the president have a complete set of movement” while lending their good health as an active lifestyle, including “frequent golf events.”
This is the first Trump medical report published on the public as a weapon tried to kill him at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last July, grazing his ear with a bullet.
At that time, the former White House doctor of Trump, Ronnie Jackson, released a report saying that his injuries from the incident were superficial.
During Trump's first term of office, a White House doctor said he was in good health, but he had to lose weight and exercise.
On the path of the campaign, Trump often attacks his rival Biden because of his cognitive and physical health.
After a poor presentation of the debate last year against Trump, Biden refused to commit to taking a cognitive test he said he had not suffered while in service.
