(Reuters) – Several people were injured in a mass shooting in New York City's Queens neighborhood on Wednesday evening but no one was killed, a detective from the New York Police Department confirmed to Reuters.
The investigation into the incident at the nightclub on New Year's Day is ongoing, the detective said.
Users took to social media to express their shock at the incident and shared images of the police presence at the scene.
Earlier on New Year's Day, a truck plowed into a busy street in New Orleans, killing 15 people, and in Las Vegas, a Tesla (NASDAQ:) truck exploded outside Trump's Las Vegas hotel, killing one person and injuring seven others.
Authorities have been trying to track down suspects related to the events in New Orleans and Las Vegas and are investigating terrorism angles. (This story has been corrected to say that the New York City shooting was Wednesday evening, not Tuesday evening, in episode 1)
