The German Minister of Defense has warned Ukraine not to agree with a transaction that includes a lining of territorial discounts in exchange for the termination of fire with Russia.
Boris Pistory said Ukraine “should not reach the US President's last proposal”, which he said would be a “capitulation”.
US President Donald Trump said this week that “most of the main points (on the deal) are negotiated.” Reports show that Ukraine can be asked to abandon large parts of land seized from Russia, including Crimea.
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski repeatedly rejects the territorial discounts, stating that land issues can be discussed after the ceasefire has been agreed.
On Sunday, Pistorie told the German public operator Ard that Kiev knows that he may need to part with some territory to ensure that fire is terminated.
“But they certainly won't go that far – or they don't have to go as far as the US president's last suggestion,” he said.
“Ukraine could get a year ago what was included in this proposal, it is similar to capitulation. I cannot understand any value added.”
The BBC has not seen the exact details of the US. On Friday, the Reuters News agency announced that it has seen proposals from the United States, which include US legal adoption of the illegal annexation of Crimea in Russia and the actual recognition of Russian control over other occupied areas, including all of Luhansk in the eastern part of the country.
Reuters says he has also seen counter -propositions from Europe and Ukraine, which is reported to have discussed what is happening with the occupied Ukrainian territory only after the fire has come into force.
The US Plan also excludes Ukraine's membership in NATO's military alliance and sees that the United Kingdom, a “desire coalition”, providing a security guarantee after cessation is in force without US involvement.
In the meantime, Europeans want the United States to give “stable” guarantees in the form of a NATO cast iron -style commitment to help Ukraine if they are attacked.
The United States is reported to propose further to take control of the nuclear power plant “Proceria” – currently occupied by Russia – which will then provide electricity to both Russia and Ukraine. The program does not mention to give power to Russia.
In an interview with Time magazine this week, Trump again accused Kiev of starting the war, citing his ambition to join NATO.
The US President also told Time: “Crimea will remain with Russia.”
On Sunday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called on Russia and Ukraine to move forward to secure a peace deal.
“It has to happen soon,” Rubio told NBC. “We cannot continue to spend time and resources for this effort if it will not be realized.”
The United States has recently warned that it will move away from negotiations if progress is not made.

The White House described the meeting as “very productive”, while the Ukrainian president said he had “the potential to become historical.”
Russia began a full -scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, and Moscow currently controls almost 20% of Ukrainian territory.
