Austrian Chancellor Nehmer says he will resign after failed alliance talks




Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehmer said on Saturday that he would resign in the coming days after talks to form a coalition government broke down. Three political parties – Nehmer's conservative People's Party, the centre-left Social Democrats and the liberal party NEOS – were involved in the talks, which were aimed at sidelining the far-right Freedom Party, which won national elections last September.
