Costco cold remedy recalled due to possible 'contamination'


A Costco brand Cold and flu medicine It has been pulled from the shelves “due to possible foreign material contamination”.

A notice shared on the retail giant's website says the Kirkland Signature Severe Cold & Flu Plus Congestion recall includes product number 1729556 with specific part code P140082, sold at select locations in the Midwest and Southeast.

“Without an abundance of caution, LNK has initiated a recall for the random release and shipment of a specific lot code that was rejected due to possible foreign material contamination,” the statement said.

This over-the-counter drug was purchased by affected customers between October 30 and November 30, 2024.

Consumers are told not to use the remaining product with the lot code and return it to Costco for a full refund.

Last month, 8,640 boxes of Kirkland Severe Cold & Flu Plus Day & Night Cramp Packs It has been called by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) because the oral phenylephrine compound was deemed “ineffective” as a nasal decongestant after an “extensive review.”

In its oral form, this chemical has been shown to be ineffective against colds and flu, except at a dose that has some cardiotoxicity and can lead to palpitations, arrhythmias, and high blood pressure,Fox News Senior Medical Analyst Dr. Mark Siegel said.
