Famous house by Breaking Bad The TV series is up for sale, and the owners of an otherwise unremarkable home in one of Albuquerque's older neighborhoods are hoping the property's role in the long-running series will help them fetch a pretty penny.
Centering on legendary meth-kickers Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, the series wrapped more than a decade ago, but its legacy continues to attract the house and other related filming locations around town.
The governor of New Mexico also recently tapped Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, to take part in a campaign against littering in New Mexico.
While Breaking Bad Having certainly left its mark on this quiet block in New Mexico and Albuquerque, the listing is sure to reignite interest. And it's going for $4 million.
Juan Quintana told Albuquerque television station KOB-TV that fans flocked to the house often, sometimes hundreds of cars in a single day.
Quintana said her parents bought the house in the 1970s and she and her siblings grew up there. As her parents grew older and the show's popularity skyrocketed, it became harder to protect them. The family was forced to put up metal fences and security cameras to keep fans away.
Now that his parents are gone, it's time to sell.

“It's been our family home since 1973, about 52 years,” she told the station. “So we'll just leave with our memories. It's time to move on. We're done. There's no reason to fight anymore.”

It was 2006 when a film scout first approached Quintana's mother about shooting a pilot episode at the home. Within months, equipment was set up and filming began.
The family got to meet Cranston and other stars and see behind the scenes as crew members worked their magic. Quintana's mother always believed in cookies for the cast and crew.
The interior of the house was used for production, while the interior scenes were shot in a studio.
For the iconic pizza scene, Quintana recalls the pizza boxes lining the sidewalk. Plenty of unshredded cheese and pepperoni props were ready in case Cranston didn't try it the first time. He did — face pizza on the roof after his character's wife slammed the door in his face.
The homeowners had a hard time preventing fans from trying to toss their pizzas or sneaking a dip in the popular backyard pool.
The housing market in New Mexico's largest city certainly wasn't what it was when Walter White was applying for a mortgage, and the price Quintana's parents paid five decades ago is unimaginable now. The median price in the Albuquerque area is approaching $400,000, and interest rates are expected to hover around six percent this year.
Some online real estate calculators put the estimated market value of the four-bedroom ranch-style home at more than $340,000. But with star power Breaking Bad Behind that, the global luxury realty service that is listing the home for Quintana and her family is priced at just under $4 million.
David Christensen with EXP Luxury told The Associated Press on Friday that it has been a busy day with listings going live and investors looking at properties. Ideas include turning the house into a vacation rental or museum.
The listing company has set up a website to showcase the property, offering a chance to own a piece of pop culture history.
