LG has unveiled its 2025 OLED evo TV lineup and is showing them off at this year's CES along with other models. home entertainment products. The new models feature the latest α (Alpha) 11 Gen2 AI processor with deep learning algorithms that give the TVs the ability to sharpen low-resolution, low-quality images. LG says the new TVs are also the industry's first with 4K resolution and 165Hz refresh rates, backed by NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium certifications. This allows the models to provide smooth gameplay with minimal input lag.
The company has updated its Brightness Booster Ultimate technology for new OLED TVs, meaning they can achieve three times the brightness of regular OLED models. For dark scenes, LG promises “first-class black levels” as these models have received “Perfect Black” and “Perfect Color” certifications from UL Solutions. LG, in particular, was the first in the industry to achieve Perfect Black certification back in 2022, ensuring viewers that their TVs can achieve true black when the screen image demands it.
LG's Fast Brightness and Color Temperature Stabilization feature allows viewers to enjoy the best performance of their TV as soon as they turn it on. And if they decide to watch a movie, Filmmaker Mode with Ambient Light Compensation is activated, automatically adjusting picture settings based on ambient lighting conditions to stay true to how the director wants audiences to experience their film.
In terms of audio, the TVs are equipped with AI Sound Pro, which provides 11.1.2 channels of surround sound. Meanwhile, the models' AI Remote can recognize individual voices and make personalized recommendations. Viewers can also use AI Search, powered by Microsoft Copilot, to understand conversational queries and “uncover subtle user intent.”
One of LG's new OLED TVs is the latest M5 series, which is the successor to the previous M series models that can wireless transmission video and audio. The latest M5 TVs are capable of transmitting audio and video wirelessly at up to 144Hz without loss of image or quality. Even though they have slightly lower refresh rates than other models in the lineup, the wireless M TVs also promise “tearing-free, stutter-free gaming experiences.” LG has been showcasing this technology for a few years now, but lately they've been rolling it out to more and more TVs in their lineup. Back in December, LG announced its new, more affordable QNED TVs will work, for example, with Zero Connect Box. It was previously available in the OLED M series, but only in sizes 77 inches and above.
